Confetti

I recently attended a birthday party with a Confetti Theme. I should be getting actual party Photos soon from Mattis but until then, I'll just show you how I woke up the following day with a slight hangover.

Laadiblaah

I've been shopping for small, medium and big presents for my loved ones this week. Sadly I can't show anything to you guys as some of my Finnish family and friends are reading this blog quite actively haha. Anyways the point of this info was that I'm FINALLY going home again 1.9 till 13.9! I can barely wait!

I miss my family and friends more the closer the due day gets. I've been facing some disappointments among my local "friends" here in Germany lately and been reminded of the real ones I've left behind. Am I really that difficult and annoying to be around with? Anyone can make a nodding aquaintance but to have them around when things get complicated is more of a skill I suppose.

I've gotten the image that autumn is setting it's foot to Finland already and I do hope so, as that time of the year is my absolute favourite season! The summer in Midgermany is sooooo damn long and hot! It feels so alien to me to have approx 6 months of summer and no winter at all, cos that's sure what it seems to me like. I'm all about cold winds, rain and darkness so please bring it on so I can go outside again!

Anything else going on with me at the moment? I've been staying indoors away from the heat and drowned myself in school stuff. I still have summer holidays until Oktober but the homework won't let me rest too much. End of September I'll be heading to Crete with my honypun's family, so look forward to that haha. I'll be drowning you with holiday photos first from Finnland and later from Crete till Christmas I bet!

Dope Dishes

I'm a big fan of pies and even a bigger lover of vegetarian quiche. Being pretty hungry at the moment, but forced to push forward with my homework ahem okay I'm updating my blog hehe I'm just having lunch with my eyes, remembering the Birthday party of Josi.

cheese-spinach quiche

Josi's mediterranian wonder, my personal favourite!

We baked various quiche to the party and as blueberrypie has become somewhat of my specialty here, I modified it a bit and baked 1 raspberry pie and 1 mixed-berry pie. Yummy!

mushroom, onion & sourcream

my tiny allthewayimprovised paprika-curry-pie turned out super tasty!

The key to a tasty veggie quiche, in my opinion, is the ass load of spices! Never forget: the more the merrier.

My hobby since winter has been collecting all awesome etiquette labels from varied lemonade bottles. I'd be happy of ALL the help I can get so collect with me, if you like! They're to be a part of a tiny project I'm working on but which'll take place only after I've gathered enough of funny material. I love everyday design! It's so inspiring and I sometimes wonder if I should have studied product or graphic design after all. Who knows, maybe I'll do that too one day haha.

I'm meeting Roscoe later today, and hopefully we'll be able to create something artistic and inspiring too this evening. Wish u all a nice Wednesday, don't forget to be awesome!

Muffins are just ugly Cupcakes

Whoah! What a feeling.
I've just arrived home (4:30am) after a Football game, board game, shisha and some silly series at a friend's place. I was so exhausted 15 min ago and thought the 2km bike ride would totally kill me..

QUITE THE OPPOSITE! Geez, how alive I suddenly feel after rushing through the empty streets in this lovely summer night. The sun is slowly creeping higher but it's still dim, the hot & sweaty day has left the air cool yet comfortable on my face and the first birds are chirping here and there. I felt so.. so free and happy that I had to giggle a bit, as cheesy as it sounds, and in down hill I let my hands go of the bike handlebar! What a thrill, dashing on the middle of the road with my arms spread theatrically, balancing the bicycle like I used to do as a kid. I higly recommend these nightly bike rides to everyone!

Now I'll have some beauty sleep before getting up to study tomorrow. Sorry for not having any cool photos this time but I hope you enjoyed the dream like music instead.

Nighty night dearies.

Seclusion

G'day to yalls! I'm feeling a lot better today and am at the moment enjoying myself by switching between my Uni projects, homework and procastinating in internet. Sounds lame to be stuck inside on Sunday? Not to me. I enjoy being alone in my room, listening music, drawing, painting, googling, knitting and photoshopping whenever I choose to get bored with the previous activity.

I'm now getting shortly back to sketching a lake resort and might later get back to the photos from Liz. For photoshop I'm currently learning to use Adobe Lightroom 3.6 and think I'm making quite a process there! Before the weekend I could barely use Paint to crop my pictures, not to mention adding different textures or manipulating the lighting and colour.

Write to you later maybe!

Unbelievability

I'm a bit undecided if I should attend the Chemist Party at Krone today.. I'll have to work tomorrow at 10am but I really feel like dancing tonight. What say you?

The Colour of the Month

my garden
Here you go, once again one random Photo Post of the Spring greenery scenery at the D-Town. I haven't had much time lately to write about things lately, but just that you know, stuff is happening at it's normal pace and nothing spectacular has taken place. I'm getting the hang of the Hessish dialect maybe? My boyfriend disapproves strongly but as a chameleon, one doesn't really have a choice ge?

Oh yeah, I did have a short photoshoot with my somewhat new aquaintance Liz the other day! It included me hopping around through flower fields, me climbing on trees and me splashing around in a well. She has some wacko ideas for lil-ol-me but I have to admit to be equally excited about the chances to evolve in photography and amateur modelling.

I don't have any of the photos yet and we'll see if something presentable came out of it, since we had so limited time on our hands.. BUUUUUUUT I'll be sure to share you guys a few shots after I get them. Liz needs my roundish babyface for her portfolio to apply for University.

There are some reeeeeal nice buildings around the neighbourhood here, with humongous gardens and windows. I'm keeping my eyes open for a cheap castle close to the University. Haa haa haa..

Wish you people a lovely weekend!

Downton Abbey

Everytime I'm having hard times I turn to period dramas to cheer me up or to keep me in the Dreamland. Sunday noons with my mother, a murder mystery and a large pot of tea are the best on this planet. Downton Abbey here, among apricot marmalade, has been my latest passion. I believe I was born a century too late..

Easter Monday

http://www.may-cafebar.de/

I visited my German family shortly around Easter last weekend. On Monday me, my boyfriend and my "best girlfriend" Lasse popped in one of my favourite CafĂ©s in Hamburg for breakfast. I love the interiors, the wide wide Menu und low prices in this high-ceiling paradise in St. Pauli and would recommend the breakfast buffee on any day of the week. Travellers, visitors and homeys, do take the advice to check out this hut if you get the chance!

I was surprised of realising how much I'd actually missed Lasse haha. Skyping is not the same as seeing someone in person after all. I could've spent the rest of the day in the sofas of May with him and my boy! The joy was way too short-lived, however, as I needed to jump into Mitfahrgelegenheit in the same evening.

If you need a freckled ear to listen to your worries, here's your man! You can trust Lasse to cheer u up, kill time, give you new aspect and answers skillfully in pretty much any issue on your heart. He's one of the people that made my time in Hamburg worthwhile and one of the reasons why I now concider HH my German hometown. Lasse is going to become an uncle sometime later this year and I tell you, Baby Bacon will be one lucky son of a redhead! ♥

Hamburg treated me with her typical weather of spray rain and grayness, which infact makes Coffee Shopping a lovely and profitable sport.

Above you see the amazing idea of the people of St. Pauli, a Swapping Box in the middle of the street! Another man's trash, the other one's treasure. Bring by some non-important thing of yous and take a cool pair of shoes, a book or a sweater to brighten your days. Recycling in a nutshell. What a cute way to make one smile.

Goodnight muffins and stars.

Cotton Candy

Charlotte Free

Late Night inspirations from two of my favourite blogs x & x

I think I'd really love to have a strawberrylike mermaid hair. I'm not going to. But I'd love it. Tomorrow I'll have to wash my pinky coloured tops finally off. I suppose they indeed make me look younger as this one guy on a bus almost choke yesterday after I told him I'm actually 22-years-old. He thought I'm still in school.

Oh well, I'll preserve like a pickle.
Goodnight pumpkins!

Sunny Sunday

turned into a grayish Monday.. I found out that my well-prepared homework was drawn in the wrong scale and I basically haven't got much to hand in today at the Construction lesson. Oh dear.

Anygays I am more than thrilled and jumping out of my pants to tell you that I did miraculously well on all of my exams this semester! My goal was only to pass each of them no-matter how but I NEVER expected such success! Our evaluation goes from 1-5, from best to failed that is. Totally opposite of Finland, where 1 is the worst you can get and 5 the one for swots. My "worst" grade was 2,3 from Material knowledge, where I cried and had nightmares months before the doom day. IMAGINE THAT! I feel like the surface area of my brain suddenly doubled, no TRIPPLED, itself!! Wiiii wooop woooop..

I'll take this lovely opportunity to hype in my blog as I'm proud as shit about myself! Me, the girl who failed in ordering in a restaurant in German 2 years ago, know scored higher in the University exams than many (if not most) of her peers. How goddamn great does that feel??! Lil Ol me, one of the worst in my German class in Finland, battling to get through her German A-levels and the eternal Goofball Blondie now proved to have some brain capacity at all! I'm still going bananas about this and am concidering of becoming an astronaut instead of an architect.

Puuh, now that I got all of that out I'll share some Sunday feelings:

They say it's spring, but I also started to see everything in pink.

action photos by my mister

I've been dying to do something new with my hair but speaking from experience, I can say that changing from light to dark is pure hell and I'm hopefully never getting my curls into that flurry again. Now that I've finally gotten my own hair colour back, I'm settling for some less dramatic changes. Inspired through my job, watercolours, pastel colours, marmorizing and Spring this lady took "strawberry blond" literally..

Don't fuss, it's not permanent and will wash off by the end of the week but I'm already concidering about getting the dip dyed look for good. Too bad my boyfriend gave red light to the pink tops. He says I look like a 15-year-old instead of a mermaid. What do you think?

On our Sunday walk we popped into this super cool Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant-cafe Habibi. We wanted to get some lunch at the hut sometime before when I was still looking for a room in Darmstadt, however it was not open on Mondays. This time we were lucky!

I really really higly recommend Habibi for anyone in Darmstadt! The service is good, friendly and quick, the indoors facinating, you can play board games and hang out with a bigger group and the food and drinks are all organic and vegetarian. Sounds too good to be true? Too much for your wallet? Well take a deep breath, because it's not. The prices are student hugging and your lunch/dinner seriously delicious. The menu consists of numerous drinks from teas & coffees to cocktails & wines, a range of Pita breads with royal filling, selfmade cakes and daily changing soups.

My betterhalf ordered a Pita bread with aubergine and soy Gyro, I took the spicy lentil soup of the day. What a treat! With mango lassis this fun cost us altogether only 14 euros, which is a tiny price to begin with but to know that you're supporting this funky Teahouse and organic lifestyle at the same time, made me feel like a well-fed hero.

Check out Café habibi here! I think I might make this place my new steady hangout. The adresse: Landwehrstrasse 13 - 64293 Darmstadt. You might want to double check the opening times as they vary quite a lot.
