Inspiration Trip

One Friday in August I took a day trip to the Architecture Museum in Frankfurt with Kevkev and Katrin. I'm not a fan of Frankfurt at all, but it's super convenient living next to a big city I have to admit. If you get bored with the nightlife of Darmstadt, you can jump in the train and try partying in Frankfurt, Mainz or Heidelberg instead! All convenient and cheap as I'm able to use all the local trains, busses, undergrounds and trams for free inside Hessen with my Student ID.

I imagine myself somewhat of a V.I.P tourist when travelling to different corners of Germany eventho I've lived here for more than 2 years now. I can speak German pretty fluently and am able to avoid the usual tourist traps and prices everywhere but I still feel like taking a miniholiday in a foreign country when visiting an unknown city in here. This time too, nevermind living 20 min away from Frankfurt!

At the end of the museum's visit, me and the Ks popped into some restaurant to lunch together before getting back. I usually don't dine out without my boyfriend's wallet with friends, so enjoying the sun at Zeil was quite a luxury.

yums yums!

Next time, blogging from Finland! Maybe yes, maybe not. I don't know what the capacities of my sister's laptop are and if it likes to co-operate with my camra. We'll see, no stress from my part haha.

Laadiblaah

I've been shopping for small, medium and big presents for my loved ones this week. Sadly I can't show anything to you guys as some of my Finnish family and friends are reading this blog quite actively haha. Anyways the point of this info was that I'm FINALLY going home again 1.9 till 13.9! I can barely wait!

I miss my family and friends more the closer the due day gets. I've been facing some disappointments among my local "friends" here in Germany lately and been reminded of the real ones I've left behind. Am I really that difficult and annoying to be around with? Anyone can make a nodding aquaintance but to have them around when things get complicated is more of a skill I suppose.

I've gotten the image that autumn is setting it's foot to Finland already and I do hope so, as that time of the year is my absolute favourite season! The summer in Midgermany is sooooo damn long and hot! It feels so alien to me to have approx 6 months of summer and no winter at all, cos that's sure what it seems to me like. I'm all about cold winds, rain and darkness so please bring it on so I can go outside again!

Anything else going on with me at the moment? I've been staying indoors away from the heat and drowned myself in school stuff. I still have summer holidays until Oktober but the homework won't let me rest too much. End of September I'll be heading to Crete with my honypun's family, so look forward to that haha. I'll be drowning you with holiday photos first from Finnland and later from Crete till Christmas I bet!

Husky

In the last post I said I was meeting Roscoe, remember? We ended up playing with his new addition to the photo equipment family: the ring light. As soon as it got dark, we built this ministudio in his living room and I boosted my make-up to the extreme. All of the photos here are taken and edited by Roscoe Eucker. Check out his website for more photos and contact.

I'm not used to wearing this much eye-shadow even if I go partying so I'm somewhat shocked of the effect haha. I look scary, don't you think? I tried hard to be an easy model this time around by minimizing the nagging, giggling and strange faces. I think Roscoe and me both agree when I say, that the improvement to the first shooting is significantly notable!

Overall once again, I had a blast! My efforts in modelling were rewarded with vegetarian sushi -YUM- and I've been actually googling and drawing all day today, being so inspired and all. During the evening we took a biiiiiiiiiiig bunch of photos and I wish to get some originals on my hands sometime soon in order to practise my own photoshop skills as well. There sure is material enough now!

C'est Magnifique

Omg how cute is this! I think Daphne normally looks a bit alien and scary with those huge eyes wide appart and insanely luscious lips all crammed into her tiny face but here -Pure Perfection!

I'm in love and if I could afford it, I'd buy the perfume no matter the fragrance!

Dope Dishes

I'm a big fan of pies and even a bigger lover of vegetarian quiche. Being pretty hungry at the moment, but forced to push forward with my homework ahem okay I'm updating my blog hehe I'm just having lunch with my eyes, remembering the Birthday party of Josi.

cheese-spinach quiche

Josi's mediterranian wonder, my personal favourite!

We baked various quiche to the party and as blueberrypie has become somewhat of my specialty here, I modified it a bit and baked 1 raspberry pie and 1 mixed-berry pie. Yummy!

mushroom, onion & sourcream

my tiny allthewayimprovised paprika-curry-pie turned out super tasty!

The key to a tasty veggie quiche, in my opinion, is the ass load of spices! Never forget: the more the merrier.

My hobby since winter has been collecting all awesome etiquette labels from varied lemonade bottles. I'd be happy of ALL the help I can get so collect with me, if you like! They're to be a part of a tiny project I'm working on but which'll take place only after I've gathered enough of funny material. I love everyday design! It's so inspiring and I sometimes wonder if I should have studied product or graphic design after all. Who knows, maybe I'll do that too one day haha.

I'm meeting Roscoe later today, and hopefully we'll be able to create something artistic and inspiring too this evening. Wish u all a nice Wednesday, don't forget to be awesome!

DIY Nails

For some mysterious reason I have "suffered" from shitty, easily breaking nails for about 2 years now. As soon as the nail grows a weeny bit over my finger it starts to PEEL OFF in layers. Yuck. I've tried a few hardening nailpolishes and eaten this powder called Kieselerde from pharmacy used to build up hair, nails and teeth(???) but without result. Is it my vegetarian diet? Who knows, but I clearly lack some vitamins or minerals or whatever.

UNTIL a few months ago! I've finally gotten long nails and actually have to cut them every once in a while! Inspired by my new claws I thus decided to decorate the things before they fall off. To become a succesful copycat you will need nails:

1. Use the scissors to cut sawtoothed zigzag pattern onto a long piece of tape. It has to be prettttty tiny so don't rush.

2. Place the tape on your nails, leaving the tip of your nail free for the white nailpolish, like in the french manicure. You can cut/tear off the extra tape from the finger as you obviously only need it for the nail.

3. Paint the tip white, let it dry a bit but not all the way and remove the tape carefully.

4. Once the white nailpolish is dry, you can use a colourless/light pink overcoat on the whole nail.

PÄ PÄM! You've got yourself some humorous fingers!

Culture Club

If you pop into Hamburg anytime soon, drop a visit to the Alice in Wonderland exhibition at Kunsthalle. You save about 60% if you flash that student ID of yours. It was all nice and strange and suited me well.

notice the cultivated way of carrying a shopping bad

I'd be a bad girlfriend posting only pretty photos of myself. I wonder what happened hier.

My pictures don't make justice to the exhibition but stricktly speaking, I wasn't allowed to have any. What was the point of this post? What is the point of anything? As my honeybear would say:
It's for shits and giggles.

Have a nice day everybodi!

Summer Stuff

My Honeydew is very dedicated to his hobby in debating and goes often to tournaments around Germany. Sounds nerdy at first but I tell you it is nothing the sort! Just think about the advantages in becoming a talented speaker, how much it helps you in private & professional life, how you learn to view every angle of the topic and use the language and your information to your own profit. Amazing! I think I'd like to ask my honeypie as a guest blogger to write something about this fascinating hobby!

One Sunny Sunday me and the family made a trip to pick up my mister from Greifswald from a tournament.

That evening we also celebrated his unbirthday as we had missed out the chance to celebrate the real deal due to his exams. I had to post picture of my presents to him as I quite liked my packaging haha. I'm always clueless first in what to give people on their special day but this time I made rather good findings: a COS-shirt, self-picked Rosemary and almonds from Spain and 2 pairs of silly socks (the other ones had funny faces above the toes and the other ones were made to look like geeky sandals).

i made it, thanks for the recipe mom

While in Hamburg, I insisted my honeybee to take me to the Handelskammer, as it is one of the 100 Must-See-Buildings-in-Germany according to my professors. Get ready for architecture pictures:

me!

The Hamburg Handelskammer, Chamber of Commerce, is special as it involves a smaller building of modern architecture built inside an old one. What an idea! Afterwards we picked up ice cream in one of my favourite Ice Cream Stalls next to Planten und Blomen -park and had one of our cozy typical arguments on the way home haha.

Would any of you like to guestblog to That Turnip by the way? I know I get about 40 clicks a day to my blog so there must be some readers for your stories too. Just an idea. Play with it.
