603 Square Meters of Old Things

Pictures of me and Anna Lena selling our old clothes at a local fleamarket last Sunday. I can't wait to do it again this summer altho naturally all my good garnments are long gone by now. This time the location was this old hall, ex-night club now used for various daytime culture activities.

In itself the trip was worth our while. I made 40 euros and a bit more space for my other clothing. I also managed to sell some of my own fleamarket findings, that I've washed and repaired with even a bit of profit! It's really a nice feeling to let go of some old dress you once loved to wear but which just doesn't fit with my current "style" at all.

After the rush hours were gone and everything turned dead, I picked up my notably lighter bags and headed to Habibi with my love for some Vegan delights!

the most delicious seitan I've ever tasted for just 5 euros!

I've been a bad girl today by only going to work and not doing anything much  for my University afterwards altho I really need to.
Again. Sigh. I just cooked something small, had a Skype-meeting with my small bro and afterwards watched a Marilyn Monroe film.

Have a nice weekend buddies!

One Man's Trash

I'm currently having the last of my Semester Holiday in Hamburg and plan on staying over Easter. Since my Honeypot is looking for a new jacket I got the idea of digging through some of the local Thrift Stores first.

❤

Got inspired? We visited somewhat 4 second-hand-shops, but the ones worth visiting in my opinion would be: Nonos Kleidermarkt  and Vintage & Rags.

Welcome

5 Readers Ou Em Geeeeh! Thank you people, I know it's a tiny poop for the Blogger World but a huge Whirlwind in my Tea Cup! ♥ How seriously ridiculously excited I get to notice that weeny note greeting me with New Comment or New Reader, everytime it happens. I know there are more of you anonymousies out there, since on the best days I get up to 8 views, but worry not you shall remain secret until you decide it's cool to be in my gang in public.

I'm a bit busy at the moment with work, down with cold and my periods, Oh the PAIN!, but to cheer up the rainy days of Darmstadt I shall post photos of my favourite Summer Saturday activities: fleamarketing! Presenting you the merry very best Fleamarket there is in Germany (yes Berlin you lose), the St. Pauli Flohmarkt ♥

I'm fond of this Fleamarket because of it's relatively small size, laughing people, sunny atmosphere and cheap prices. As a part of the more artistic area, there are always some really intriguing things to find and sometimes you get lucky with snatching even designer items with just a few euros!

I highly recommend tourists too to drop by when in Hamburg. The Fleamarket is there throughout the Summer on every Saturday from about 7am to 16pm. Early birds should get to the scene between 9 and 10am the latest if you want to avoid the bigger crowd and don't like fighting for the goods.

Okie dokie, I'm off to work but wish you honey pies a fruitful day in what ever you do!

Lucky Day

Waited enough? Everyone dying to know where I got my leather jewel from? Thus I shall give you the story of my first day after moving in.

Well the perfect (Satur)day started with me and my honey waking up in my sweet little room. At the day of arrival I'd seen a sign telling about a big fleamarket this Saturday, and being a huge fleamarket digger I forced my grumpy bear out of bed to drive me there before noon. I convinced him to go, telling him we might find a lamp or a carpet which needed car transportation. Mysteriously, however, there was not a single stand nor a person to be seen at the announced crime scene! I still don't know why, as we also checked the internet before for the address. Perhaps it was cancelled or everyone thought it might rain?

Tragic magic. We were on our way back when I had a fabulous idea of checking this chinese tea bar near the main train station. It was then and there me and my humptydumpty discovered

BOBOQ BUBBLE TEA SHOP!

I'm not sure if I can hype this enough for everybody to understand my joy! This kind of drinks were my favourite (Rubiroo's too) in Hong Kong when we were there for an exchange year back in 2007-2008 and we'd been missing them like crazy (no exaggurating at all hehe) ever since we got back. There just weren't any in the whole Europe before! And then boom, here in the middle of nowhere: a real honestly chinese Bubble tea bar! The owners even speak Cantonese and the whole interior reminds me of Hui Lau Shan Cafés in HK.

I couldn't stop hyping this place the rest of the day. I mean you should see their menus! They've got 60 different drinks from tea to milkshakes to yogurts to coffee coctails! Warm or cold, you name it. What makes it so special are the so-called "bubbles" in the drink. Like in the first photo seen, these small black balls are made of tapioca starch, don't taste like much but are nice and chewy. Nowadays there is also a large variety of jelly stripes, and juice filled balls to add but I'm all into the traditional flavours. My choice? Sweetend cold milk tea with tapioca ballsies! For being cute yeah right I got to try strawberry explosions as well. Mr. Handsome took milk Oolong tea with tapioca balls and peach flavoured explosive bubbles (really, they burst when you bite them). We're determined to go through the whole menu little by little.

Thus we returned from the fleamarket trip empty-handed but with a satisfied apetite ^__^V
My thirst for cheaper shopping was still driving me to find out about any other fleamarket and internet guided us then to Kleidermarkt at Bessunger Knabenschule. A clothing fleamarket not too far from my door. Me -cheerful, my love -submissive then headed by foot to the right direction and I got a better chance to shoot at my surroundings.

Annastraße

Seems like I landed to the rich area with my cheap condo yay. Anygays not further than approx. 300 meters from my door we then met my leather armchair. Seriously. There she was (must be a lady with such a wide rear) sitting next to the road, surrounded with broken furniture and trash someone had carried out to wait for the garbage truck. After few minutes of wondering and checking, I then decided to take the perfect shaped lady into my family of inherited furniture. We turned around and carried her all the way back to my room and headed then for the third time to a fleamarket this day.

On the way I bursted with happiness by discovering unexpented minicarneval and lovely little houses. A totally different face of Darmstadt. I had no idea the city hid something so lovely just next door.

I'd love to live in that tower in the upper right corner.

Idyllic lil town stuff right?

We get off the street while trying to find the fleamarket and bump accidentally to an ORANGERIE! A park with palm trees, fountains and orange trees! They had these kinds parks with exotic fruits theme back in the old days. Renaissance or something to that direction? I never waited to find this in Darmstadt.

The fleamarket was also according my taste. Small indoor place with great atmosphere: cheap clothing, cupcakes and Lykke Li playing at the back. I circled the place through and found a blue stone pendant and a silver coloured metal cuff both 2e together. More than happy I returned to the patient mister waiting outside. You might think that the day was already too nice but wait! Cos on the way home we found another lovely park!

All this cute greatness in one day and next to my home door! This must have been my lucky day. The evening was spent together with my bunny, cooking falafels and watching a Stanley Kubrick movie. I wish everyday could be this awesome.

Tell the World that I'm coming Home

Yup yup my lovely bunnies. I'm heading off to airport in 5 hours to fly home for 3 weeks! I'll see if I can update from Finland as I am leaving my laptop behind. We'll see. Let's just say that I don't travel so many kilometres just to be on computer. I just finished packing my suitcase and craming all my presents into it. The tiny tea cups above, for example, I intend to give my sister. A fleamarket snatch.

Now I'm off to bed for 4h beauty nap! (If you'll be at the airport: look for a pale, grumpy, baggy-eyed blondie). Friends and hamsters here I come!

Three Things

1. I had an awesome day visiting a fleamarket and a small street party in Eppendorfer Landstraße.We've been having +27 °C all day and in the evening I get my long longed thunder storm. Can't wait.

2. I'll post a longer update later in the evening as it is indeed another Sunday = Blogging day.

3. Most importantly I have discovered a super cool artist and a refreshing song. Ane Brun is the norwegian lady and her new single "Do you remember" is the piece I'll be singing all summer ♥

Oh oh oh Café Keese 10/20 here I come!
