Dresden

Spent the weekend in Dresden. My monster wanted to visit his study buddy Toby and I took the chance to explore Germany.

We cooked some real tasty veggie pizza the first evening.

and chilled later at Habibi Shisha Lounge in Neustadt Dresden

 Saturday and Sunday were reserved for city sightseeing.

 Frauenkirche was totally destroyed in the Second World War. It took 13 years to reconstruct the church and they have used as much as possible of the old material and plans for it.

The insides were rather kitschy.

We also visited this museum of insane riches, were they displayed the most talented German handicraft. It was breathtaking as the materials maily consisted of gold, silver, ivory and gemstones. To get some idea click: 1, 2 & 3. The last one and my favourite piece is the cherry stone with 185 faces carved into it!

Don't let the photos fool you: we had also rain.

We drove the 5 hour way back today, picking up two Dutsch hitch-hikers on some gas station and dropping them off after Braunschweig. The less pleasant event was that I had to drive part of the trip too. I mean driving on an Autobahn is still okay but a big city like Hamburg.. NO THANKS. The zillion traffic lights and a manual big-ass car just ruin all the fun.
